The current COVID pandemic has left the whole world with a question are we ready if another attack swarms us? With expert surveillance and preparedness we could somehow evade many disasters, experts infer.
The earlier pandemic the world witnessed over the past centuries were only noted from a sense of less connectivity and information handling. But as of now, with the current advances in technologies and other information storage, are we prepared for a future unpleasantry?
After a long gap with earlier pandemics such as the Spanish flu, Black Death; the COVID completely surprised the entire world in its virulency and impacts.
Future prepardness on pandemics
At this juncture, the government officials and other policyholders have been advised to be prepared in any unseen future situations. At the virtual CNBC Evolve Global Summit, Vas Narasimhan, CEO of Swiss pharma giant Novartis, shared his views that “We know the answers and we know what needs to happen. The tricky thing, I think, is going to be four-five years from now,” he remarked. “Often, what happens is attention moves away from pandemic preparedness, investments go down and then the susceptibility levels go up.”
He added that “Pandemics have been with us for centuries. If you go back into the recorded history, probably on the order of 15 pandemics in the last 200 to 300 years. so, pandemics periodically happen, and they are probably bound to happen again in the future.
With the current situation of the pandemic, the world has been shifting from regularity and panic situations constantly. In these fluctuating times, the world should try to evolve from this current abyss and evade any future circumstances using the currently available information and other data.
