Accenture to fire 25000 employees globally?

The corona pandemic has affected almost every sector in the world. With heavy economic downfalls, various companies are forced to reduce the number of employees owing to extended salary expenses. In this scenario an article published recently has stated that the global service venture, Accenture is trying to cut the jobs of 25000 employees globally based on the performance review.

Accenture is an IT service venture which has nearly half a million employees globally. With over 2 lakh employees from India alone, sources said that the company is planning on cutting the jobs of employees who have not performed well over the past work years. This was published as an article in the Australian financial review (AFR) magazine.

The article has encircled the inner employee meeting that took place in 3rd week of August this year with the company’s CEO Julie sweet.

In spite of all these reports surfacing, the company has denied this as a hoax in a press conference given to the Indo Asian News Service (IANS).

Whatever might be the report, with the pandemic issue a situation of instability of work and livelihood has took place all over the world. A recent report in India made it clear that almost 12.2 crore people have already lost their jobs in a span of 6 months and this might escalate if the current situations persist, it said.
