Explosion at Dhaka; 7 dead, many injured

The explosion at Dhaka, Bangladesh has claimed 7 lives as experts believe it to be a gas cylinder blast. Following the incident, many were injured as the fire brigade is working on full scale to rescue the people stuck inside the debris. No official reason still found.

Believed to be a gas cylinder blast

The explosion on Sunday killed 7 people following excessive injuries for many. Though it is believed to be a gas cylinder blast, no official reason is found. Dhaka’s police commissioner Shafiqul Islam told newspersons at the scene at Moghbazar area adding that the explosion damaged seven buildings and three passenger buses.

Investigations have been launched

General Sajjad Hossain, chief of the fire brigade said that the primary evidence suggested that gas cylinder blasts caused the explosion but yet to know how it actually occurred. “There were gas cylinders at a restaurant on the ground floor of a nearby building and air-conditioners at a showroom upstairs while there were gas cylinders as well at the road construction site at the scene… investigations have been launched,”  he added.

People are undergoing burn treatments

Many people are undergoing burn treatments as the blast affected almost the entire close perimeter which includes 2 passenger busses and pedestrians. Injured people have been transported to the nearby hospitals and doctors are undergoing severe treatment procedures to make sure no other life is lost.
