 India has reached a milestone of 150 million Covid vaccination doses: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this through video conference on Friday as he opened the second campus of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute in Kolkata.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute’s second campus in Kolkata on Friday. The PM used video conferencing to officially open the facility. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, was also present via video connection for the inauguration.

The Prime Minister remarked that India has now administered 150 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses, which is a historic milestone.

PM Modi stated that the country’s achievement of this milestone in the journey that began at zero was thanks to the efforts of everybody, including scientists, vaccine makers, and healthcare personnel.

According to the PM, 90 percent of the country’s eligible adult population has gotten the first dosage of the coronavirus vaccination.

During the virtual speech, the PM also mentioned that vaccinations for children aged 15 to 18 years old began on January 3 this year, and that more over 1.5 crore youngsters in this age range had been immunised in just 5 days.

The Prime Minister stated that the Centre has so far given West Bengal with about 11 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccination at no cost.

“West Bengal has received more than 1.5 thousand ventilators and over 9,000 fresh oxygen cylinders.” Throughout addition, 49 PSA new oxygen plants have begun to operate in the state.”

The Prime Minister went on to say that the Ayushman Bharat initiative has benefitted over 2.60 crore people throughout the nation, including 17 lakh cancer sufferers.

The government has lowered the cost of knee implants, which has benefitted our older population in particular. This has resulted in an annual savings of Rs 1,500 crore, which has benefited residents. PM Modi claimed that the PM National Dialysis Program has provided free dialysis to 12 lakh needy people.
