Around 12 opposition parties along with few CM’s have written to the PM regarding the supply of COVID vaccine free of cost and also to take back certain farm laws to conserve and save farming communitites during the pandemic situation.
Manage the crisis situation
The current situation of India under COVID circumstances is not that good looking and the entire nation and divided as states are trying at their disposal to ensure the situation is managed. And at this situation, the 12 opposition party leaders and 4 state CM’s have written to the PM on a series of suggestions which might loosen the burden imposed over the heads of the public.
Apocalyptic Human Tragedy
In their letter, the situation has been stated as an “apocalyptic human tragedy” and the center must help the unemployed through monetary sides, free food grains, and also to repeal the farm laws in a way to conserve the farming communities in the pandemic crisis situation in the country.
The letter noted that the funds for the free vaccine could be extracted from the PM funds and that could be useful for the delivering of free food grains for the people below the poverty line.
Signed by prominent leaders of Indian political face
The letter has been signed by all prominent Opposition parties including Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, former minister HD Deve Gowda, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI leader D Raja, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, JKPA leader Farooq Abdullah, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav among others. The letter however excludes AAP and BSP.
In a reply to this, the Opposition in the letter said the Centre has been cold-shouldering its past suggestions, given both independently and jointly, and that the response has only “compounded the situation to reach such an apocalyptic human tragedy”.
