The COVID lockdown has put the rural workers in severe debt situation. With no work and less to live on these workers have reached the government for basic income support.

Lost livelihood

The situation in Tamilnadu especially over the rural areas has not been good for the people as many have lost livelihood during the lockdown and have been under a severe financial crisis situation. The workers seek the government for basic income support. Following this, many youngsters have also returned back from work.

The condition in the rural areas have been asked to be dealt with maximum concern as the people in those areas are under severe economic depression and that has been preventing them from attaining even basic needs.

Volunteers

Though numerous volunteering organizations have been lending helping hands to the people, the government must provide all the support they could provide at the earliest to ensure that these people survive the pandemic.
