The country of Nigeria has suspended the social media Twitter after the company had deleted their President’s tweet about the secessionist movement. The ban will be maintained in most of African countries especially over its most populous states.

VPN’s to use the medium

There has been no exact time duration on the situation as many of the users seems to use the application using VPNs as per reports. A few other people have commented on the government after such a socially important message has been declared using a social media platform.

Criticism over ban

Many of the country’s actions have been under criticism following this reaction from the government’s ban. A few users ever accused the government as are they mad to ban Twitter from using Twitter. Information Minister Lai Mohammed said Friday that the medium was not helping the situation over there, and it had created a lot of issues for the country. He also condemned the platform for deleting their President’s post.

Twitter deleted Buhari’s post on Wednesday, calling it abusive after the president threatened suspected separatist militants in the southeast. As the moment had a totally brute history when more than 1 million people died during the 1967-1970 civil war that erupted when secessionists sought to create an independent Biafra for the ethnic Igbo people.
